I am into anime and manga (about 4.8 TB worth) because there is nothing worth watching on TV anymore, love building and fixing computers (running 14 systems on the home network). Been on the net since 1973 when it was knows as dot nomad and I remember when American Online was known as PC Online at $9.00/hour while I was on a Tandy 286 (early 1980's). I do understand your concern and I agree with you... to let you know.. she has not asked for any financial aid and when I offered to send some anyway, she ripped me a new one... and yelled that she is not that sort of girl... she can take care of her self with out any help... (only understood 1/2 of what she said, but she was PISSED!)
After she calmed down, she told me to save the money for the trip and if I send her any, she will just send it back... if we are meant to be together, then I will need it for our future... If it is a scam, only time will tell... I will just have to see what the future holds... I have been researching that country and got a better understanding why my age is not of concern to her... On 1 of the boards I visit, 1 lady posted: Most of the boys here are more interested in drinking and having fun that having a real relationship with a girl. They will have as many girl friends as they can and use them as they will, just to cast them aside to be with another girl. Those that do get married (normally have to as abortion is totally illegal here) don’t last long before they are off with another girl/woman.
While women are accepted as equals in the Philippines most men still
treat us as things to be used and enjoyed, then cast away to be replaced
by another. This is not all men here but it is very hard to find one
that is not like that. A lot of the other women feel the say way as her... and looking at my research, she has pegged it right on the spot... I find the same attitude in Mexico and South America with the men there... A course, there is always a few bad apples in every group and 1 should still be careful not to pick one... and I AM careful... Times like this that I am glad I have over 35+ yrs in sales... both retail and corp... that experience has been a great aid in seeing the scams and reading between the lines and hearing what is not said... Want to by a bridge ??? :) Remember....
