and I don't just mean sex. In fact I mean probably everything else other than sex!

I was musing about things over the last few weeks, as I got hit by a very nasty bug, and only now am feeling like my own self. For some reason my sex drive went out of the window, and it wasn't as though I missed something, in fact it gave me time to think about relationships that I have and have had. I came to the conclusion that love is about sharing thoughts, ideas, activities, and about doing your own things and then coming back together. OK, that may not be an earth shattering thought, or a novel one, but it put things back into perspective for me.

I have been one who thought he could separate my relationships into nice simple separate boxes - this one for sex, this one for companionship, this one for ever....etc. But it just isn't true, and the walls have certainly come tumbling down.

If you've been following my blog for some while, you'll know that I have a lover, or sex partner as I would have said. I know that this relationship is reasonably stable, but that it is not going to turn into the love of my life, I already have one of those! But I've recognised that I do have more feelings than just physical, and care how she is and what she is doing.

So can you love more than one person? That all depends on your definition of love, so I don't know, but it certainly is possible to care about several people in a deep way!

Did it take me 61 years to come to that conclusion? No, but it has taken a while to be able to identify what this means for me.

OK, I'm happy now!
