we wore real formals to a prom and DID NOT change into gym shorts shortly after arrival. The dates were expected to buy the tickets, which would include a dance card, which it was expected to be used. Also, the dates were to bring corsages and we were expected to provide boutonniers, which were pinned to his BEST jacket or a rented tux. |

superballs 1st came out, the pink rubber balls and the hollow white rubber balls which we would cut in half and play stick ball with. |

dictating machines used belts, before the days of tapes, and recording machines were reel-to-reel. There was no such thing as a cassette tape. Then they came out with regular cassettes, then to micros and minis. Then I got dictation through a special phone and now it comes through the hard drive!!! Boy, this is one of those industries where you can really see the huge and rapid strides in technology!! Hi, everyone!!!! Hope your day was at least a little special!!!! |

in the early 1960s, long hair on guys was shocking and I'd only seen it in pictures and on TV. The, when we were on a family vacation and stopped in Portland, OR, for gas. Saw a long-haired guy there and ALL of my family were staring as he walked by, mouths agape. I was in the sixth grade at the time. We lived in a pretty small community, so were pretty sheltered, obviously. |

I remember when, I was little, sneaking down a couple of steps from my bedroom and spying on Mom and Dad from there while they were getting our presents ready on Christmas Eve. Dad was putting together my new cardboard kitchen set, with stove, refrigerator and hutch, just my size!!! |

my best friend and I would stay up all night during a sleepover and plan how we would get an apartment together when we grew up and would furnish it by poring over the big dreambooks of major retailers. |
