Hi,

I'm alive...being going through some P.M.I.L.S.D - Post Motherinlaw Stress Disorder as of late. Still trying to get used to the new apartment.  May 1st was our 6 months mark.  March 4th, 2013 was me & the hubby's 10 year Dating Anniversary too. I just CAN'T believe it's been that long!!   May 5th was our 6th Wedding Anniversary too   Can't believe that either - WOW!

My counselor says that I do have stress due to being in a good place now.  My Motherinlaw is a hoarder (NOT as bad as those TV shows thankfully) and living in a super clean & uncluttered place is just a relief, yet I'm not used to it.  No cigarette smell; no Urine smell (she's incontinent & didn't take care of herself about that at all). No messy kitchen; no messy bathroom. 8 years me  & the hubby lived with her mess like that.  The things we do for Love,huh?

Gearing up for Summer & hoping the place will be nice & oool (or at least we can get good breezes & drag in the air with fans in the windows).  Been asking friends to come over to visit, but no one has yet   Hopefully they will soon.

Hope ya'll have been good things are going well with you.  Hopefully I'll be able to catch some of you in the Bedroom chatroom & have a good chat

My city got 27.8 inches of snow - YIKES!!  A good 2 feet is on my street & we are slowly digging out.  Here are some pix from around 8am (I think) this morning -

Part of me wants to say "AH HA! I KNEW IT!  I knew I shouldn't have been happy because something bad is going to happen!"    Another part of me says "This is Life - and it happens at any time".

My hubby's grandmother (who turns 87 this month) just got diagnosed with ovarian cancer.   Just before Thanksgiving she had fallen in her apartment & broke her right wrist & right hip. She's been in a very good local rehab place & was going to get discharged next week.  She's going to do chemo, but I think that alone is going to kill her   Before she fell you would have NEVER known she was in her late 80s.  ALWAYS on the go - working part time in a son-in-law's business as the book keeper; helping one of my hubby's aunts due to her having a stroke years ago; running around taking care of everyone.  A good woman with a strong & deep Faith who loves her family very much (24 great grandchildren too! YIKES!).   

  This is gonna be tough cuz his mother's probably going to go downhill when her mother is gone, and I think my hubby's family will drift apart a bit more. I know this is Life & it happens (HELL! She'd tell me that herself!),but when it happens it sucks.

Month #1 at the new apartment & still unpacking stuff.  OOOMMMMMMGGGG!!   Looks like I can't buy ANY new clothes until June 2013!!  LMAO!!  I'm finding clothes I forgot I even had    

Trying to get used to the neighborhood & the street itself.  We are the second 3 decker up & when it's snowed & there's ice out there EEEKK!! Now I know how the elderly & disabled must feel during the winter.  The neuropathy in my feet which makes them hurt 24/7 doesnt' do well in my snowboots - UGH!     Have noticed some neighbors don't have curtains in their windows & some don't do their mini blinds the right way so you can see right in 

Haven't met the neighbors downstairs yet, but my hubby has & he said they are really nice.  Sure hope when Spring comes I'll be able to map out a walking route & explore the area more.  It's so quiet here that I can hear when 1 of the cats is grooming themselves. I don't think I've ever lived in a place THIS quiet, but I'm loving it.

Have started to decorate the place.  I get the bathroom,kitchen,bedroom & pantry.  Bedroom - as Hippie as I can get it!!  LOL!!!  Pantry will be decorated with vintage Holly Hobbie stuff; the Bathroom will be a combination of Horror Movie posters & Zombie stuff (complete with decal blood splatter on the walls & a Zombie cookie jar used to hold cotton balls).   I even know where to get a Zombie shower curtain    The kitchen will be 1970s retro & I'm searching for all sorts of goodies  -  The UnCandle; Avocado green blender; those HUGE wooden Fork & Spoon set you could mount on the wall & stuff like that.  

And who would have thought that a pair of Avocado green Priscilla curtains with white pom-pom trim just make me SSSSSSOOOOOOO HAPPY?   They even match The Hulk doll I have sitting at the kitchen table!  LOL!!!   Can't wait to get an owl clock & some mushroom chalkware wall hangings. 

In a way it's kinda weird - I haven't been this happy in such a long time.  Sure hope it continues   Tomorrow I head out for the next purchase - one of those step stool thingies where you pull the lower steps out from under the chair they are encased in.  And yep - they have it in green
