 I don't know WHAT to DO anymore let alone WHAT to THINK anymore about this issue.  Someone I know really well at my office is a Racist. I don't work directly with her, but she is on my floor&some weeks I commute in with her to the office (her daughter goes to a school 2 minutes from my home). In the mornings around the school it gets VERY crazy with parents dropping off the kids;school buses all around, etc.etc.etc. My coworker has made MANY MANY comments about drivers who basically are clueless who do what they want - BUT - the comments include such terms as 'my theory is correct"; 'those people are so dumb!" and "Why do alot of 'them' go to this school? They must get aid". And all of the people she refers to are African-American. Since I've known her this is the first time in front of me she's made this disgusting comments & I don't know what to do. Overall she's an ok person (a bit loud; a bit bold;a bit bitchy - but who isn't at times, right?") and she's been super nice about picking me up in the morning. My gut tells me I SHOULD just tell her off & call her on the carpet for being Racist, but my Mind says not to because she COULD cause a snit at the office & make a stink about it. Excuse me for one second here - YOU FUCKING RACIST PIGS!! YOU ARE NOT EVEN WORTHY OF BEING CALLED HUMAN BEING!   Yet I've recently I've heard in the media how pretty much EVERYONE is a Racist to some degree due to our country's culture. I honestly can say I am not one since I judge people by content of their character & how they treat others. She's only 5yrs older than me so that 'well that's how she was raised' way of thinking is null & void (well possibly since I don't know if her parents were). Mine were, and thankfully my mother's Mother - Aola - wasn't & taught me about such things. I remember her telling "It does not matter what you have nor how much you have. What matters is having a clean body; a good heart & a brain to use that heart for good". I hope I've lived up to all of what she told me  I sure hope in this century Racism is wiped out. I know - you can't get rid of Hatred, but you CAN still have Hope $10.00 this WILL NOT make it to the Front Page

IF you want to view someone's profile&be Anonymous you have to become a VIP. Now if you are a Freebie on here you no longer can see who Viewed you. So basically EVERYONE is Anonymous to EVERYONE else. Oh well - at least sending Tickles to people are still free. Wonder how long that will last though. Oh yeah, get this - when I made the comment in Chat the other night being VERY sarcastic (well a wee bit) how I wouldn't be surprised that in the future this would be come a paying site I was told to 'behave' by a Regular on here. Nice, huh? Seems one of the owners was being room Monitor that night. So we are free to be open pretty much about ANYTHING on here, but we CAN'T comment this new rule is pretty lame?  Ok sorry if I sound a bit whiney and PISSED OFF in this post, but I simply CAN NOT be the ONLY person thinking&feeling like this. Took the afternoon off from work & flicked on CNN (I don't wanna run the risk of getting sick watching afternoon network news - UGH!). They are going overandoverandover AND OVER about the Swine Flu. They are showing maps all colored in red of all the states that have reported cases of Swine Flu; how many school kids have been affected by it;how many people have died so far, etc.etc.etc. Now I'm just as concerned as the next person about it, and no - I don't want to get it even though it probably wouldn't be so bad for me BUT When a big media outlet like CNN starts to question just how many people drink from the average local bubbler/drinking fountain & could it have Swine Flu germs on it - THAT'S when I draw the line and say "Ok, WHY are we living in a Culture of Fear now?". Fear of Swine Flu; fear of dying from it; fear of losing your home/car/job/401k, etc.etc.etc. Granted those issues are VERY important ones, but GGGGEEEEEEZZZZ!!! Have educated concern & NOT out & out stress inducing FEAR of them! Somewhere in my brain I remember something about how when people are MADE to be fearful they will consume more - and for our economy that means we'll buy more goods. I just wonder if that's true, and IF it is then we are just being manipulated by the Media + Big Business + the Government ONLY to be consumers? All you see in the news now is : Swine Flu;9/11;Terrorists;the crummy economy; the battle over healthcare = just about everything & ANYTHING can & will be made to be The Next Big Fear for us. More controlling of the Great American Public & more of our rights will taken away. Go ahead - call me a crackpot theorist. I have no doubt YOU have probably wondered about such things, but you could just be too AFRAID to. Know what? I'M giving up living in the Manufactured Fear I see in the media every day. I've got my fears, don't you worry, but they are of my OWN making. Ok, I'm off my soapbox. I DO hope you're having a good day wherever you are & whatever you are going (or WHOM you are doing! Hihihi!
 What's going on with you? WHEW! Another hot one here in the city today Would like to remember a good memory here today. A very uplifting one on 1 hand, and an eye opener on the other. My city is about 2/3rds the size of Boston. It's downtown area (where I work) is a mix of old buildings&new. Our City Hall dominates the downtown area & is the anchor of it. Our bus system is where most trips transfer from & to. One day about 3 yrs ago, I was there waiting for a bus to go home (love having door to door service!) & trying to have quality reading time. In my own little world of reading;having my iPod on with good music & my sunglasses on. Every now & again I'd peek out & see if my bus home was there & then go back into my book. Now it is my observations that during such waiting times - and just people in general in the downtown area - most don't look up. Why should we, right? There are many big buildings near City Hall, and most people are paying attention to millions of other things. Well I did. I looked in the opposite direction of where my bus would come from & got a good view of Main Street going up near my office building. You get a kind of 'canyon' view, and it's interesting. And then I saw him/her - 1 of the nesting couple of Peregrine falcons who have a nest on a building just in back of my office building. He/She came into my view flying up towards City Hall. At first I wasn't too sure WHAT I was seeing, but when I did realize she (and for the sake of keystrokes I'm going to say She, ok) proceeded to perch on the top of the golden-ball final thingy on top of the City Hall tower. AMAZING & BEAUTIFUL all at the same time!  My heart soared (no pun intended) with her beauty. DAMN!! MOTHER NATURE IS BEAUTIFUL! Looking back on it I wish I had my small pair of binoculars at the time. Proud & strong she was perched up there. Did a bit of preening her wing feathers & looking around. It is my understanding that pair were (and still are) the reason many half-eaten pigeon bodies were found in the small park behing City Hall, and in the plaza at the building where they nest. I remember prior to this viewing I had come across just a pair of pigeon wings - JUST the wings mind you - that looked like they had been surgically removed from a pigeon. Made me think "Looks like Icarus lost the battle today!" So there she was in all her majestic glory. Sun shining on her beautiful feathers and that golden ball shining between her talons. Then she took off, and I tracked her - she went down Main Street towards my office building & past it til I lost sight of her. Then she came back & went past City Hall a bit. She did this 'commute' for a good 10 minutes (with having rest intervals again up on top of City Hall). I cannot begin to tell you just how BEAUTIFUL it was to me to watch her 'commuting' like that. Sailing down the street so gracefully unaware she had a vouyer. I did manage to look around to see if anyone else noticed her, but I didn't see anyone around me doing so. Most just either had their heads down or interested somewhere else. Thankfully my bus wasn't due for another 10 minutes so I got to watch her some more. She did a few more trips, but then I had to catch my bus I almost wanted to miss it, but my brain was fried from the office & just wanted to crash on my bed. To this day I think about her, and always look for her in the area. Earlier this year a coworker of mine's friend found out the pair did have a baby, but when it started to learn to fly it got stuck on a building right across from the building with the nest on it. Seems the parents couldn't coax it back to the nest so they would take turns going out to the baby & feed it. My friend did have a few good pix of the mother (well we think) who had perched on a local streetlight that I had wanted to post here, but he can't seem to find them. That day she had taken to squawking for about an hour which drove my coworkers nuts  I wasn't able to see her, but loved the sound anyways. To me that was Mother Nature reminding me that she's around & while I'm in my cube slaving away for little $$$ Life goes on out there. It's the same feeling I get when I see a local skunk or possum in that neighborhood (I lived there 6yrs ago before meeting my hubby & moving away). In different areas of the city there have been incidents of Black bears appearing stuck up in trees, and every now & again a Moose will wander in the city. Thankfully the city officials have been able to have them tranquilized & removed to the woods far outside the city. There also have been reports of coyote & foxes in various neighborhoods. Ok, well, that's it. Sure hope my friend finds those pix. Hope you have a great weekend!!  50 what? *whistles and tries to look innocent*
