Thought of this one today.
At our current level of tech, if we needed to save humanity, how would we do it?
If the even we are trying to escape was mild, we could do underground citys.
However, if the event was more severe, how could we save enough people, without making a ship SO large, it would never move?

here is the answer, and i know the women are gonna love it. (maybe)
The answer, is give it to the women.
here is what i mean.
Build a ship, hold several hundred women. Only able bodied, women of a young age, but smart and skilled. They are selected, to be the "mothers" of new humanity.
The ship would be much smaller then trying to move the needed number of people to start the race again, with the needed genitic diversity.
Then, you include cryo storage of millions of fertilized eggs.
After 20 years of travel, maybe 30, you impregnant these women with eggs from storage. For now, they are inplanted with girls only.
They are born, taught, and grow up, under the support of "mom"
Mom dies of old age. Child lives on, 30 years later, do the same.
The ship would still need to be a good size, but cryo storage would limit the need for large logistics of caring for, and feeding a large crew.
After several hundred years, when the ship arrives at destination, they send "prefab houses" down to the surface.
Evaluate the planet, to ensure it will support humanity, and be viable.
Then, those women are inpregnated with half male, and half female.
This is where the women don't have the great job, but most important.
They give birth to new children. Then maybe wait a year, and do it again.
They do this as often as they can, (bodies support) till the first generation dies.
Then the younger generation, as they get old enough, does the same, and you "birth" humanity back into existance. It would be done slow enough to allow the development of infrastructure and city support.
After a few "births" you allow the men and women to "mingle" to make new genetic matches, while you add new genitics from the "pool" in cryo.
That way, you can carry millions of "people" from the genitic pool of earth, and not have to worry about feeding all of them oon the way.
And by having an all female crew, you can limit "mingling" on a ship that can't handle it.

The same could be done in an underground city, if the city could not be built to accomodate enough people to "repopulate" the planet.
The poor mans way of saving humanity.

I will say one thing, If this method was used, the govenment would start out by claimng a "explorer-colonization" ship was being sent out, to further spread humanity to the stars, and will be "buying" eggs and sperm for the trip.
They would never tell us the truth, but if you see past the lie, you can fgure it out.

Because many times we see things that are true, but dismiss them because others do not see.

I have a few pointers to make, and maybe we can see who thinkgs im insain, and who will say "hmmmmm"

So, we all see the news report about the earth quake in Chille.
The amazing report about the earth quake was so powerfull that it slowed the rotation of the planet down a bit (less then a second or something, but still..)
and changed the axis of the planet to move by 3 inches.
Now some may say thats nothing on a planetary scale, but it MOVED the PLANET
by 3 inches.
My question, what if it was the other way around?
What if the earth tilted suddenly, that 3 inches, and that is what caused the earthquake in chille?
What would happen if you apply this event to the possible unknown happenings of the "2012" end of world thing?
Perhaps, there is something going on, that if the earthquake caused the planet to tilt, then we are fine, and humanity goes on not knowing what is comming.
But if the tilt caused the quake, then we have worries.

Throw in another bit of oddity.
2012 supposed to be a major event. Yet its being played off as another end of world event like those in the past?
Here are the ideas-
If the govenrment knew about this, they would need to build something.
Ships, either water, like the movie, star ships, if its gonna be REAL bad, underground cities, if its gonna be bad on the surface.
This would take money. How does the government get money?
They take it from other areas, that they have control over, and can move money without anyone knowing. Problem is, they need trillions, and can't hide that.
So, whats the best way to rase major capital that no one questions?
War- So war in middle east, trillions spent, no way to verify where the money went.
Billions spend on reconstruction, but can't tell anyone what they built cause "terrorists" will blow it up. Good excuse.
Then, we get a president who wants to stop the war, close the camps.
gets into office, and does a 180.
Why? He woul dhave gotten the top secret info of what is going on.
Problem, if the public knows the end is comming, what happens?
Riots, looting, and general destruction. Nothing gets built, infrastructure dies.
To save man, by building ships or underground cities, you need manafacture companies to keep producing. People to keep working.
Opps, banking problems cause economy to slow down, so gov spends billions on keeping it going.
The money spent is not watched, and who knows where the products go, so they keep economy going, AND get things needed for suvival.
Save the few, by sacrificing the many.
Government owes trillions, fed spending is massive and debt is skyrocketing, they are spending cash like there is no tomorrow, Maybe there isn't for them?

By this continued "war on terror" it allows them to tap and watch anyone, to keep the secret safe. Can't have anyone who knows anything talking about it.


we pay more and more, and get less and less, money vanishes, and no one looking to find it.



Also- global warming, im sure there is a point in which the level of CO2 which will trigger and ice age.
If there is a critical point, what is it? Intresting idea- That point coul dbe found in the first layer of snow after the last ice age.
Easy idea- if all the co2 from last ice age was trapped in the snow, then it would suggest that if all the snow melted, all the CO2 in it, would be back in the atmos.
However, if you add the CO2 that the planet lets out, added to that by the CO2 humans have let out, then you have that point reached BEFORE all the snow melts.
Now, i find out that the Methane ice off siberia is melting, know what that does?
Kills sea life, then increases green house gas quickly. Planet temps rise.
snow melts faster, and ice comes quicker.
we talk about reversing the effects of global warming bu reducing the CO2 emissions.
But in fact, we can't REVERSE the damage already done. So, we are left with only trying to SLOW down HOW much FASTER we destroy the planet.
But, if the levels of CO2 already out, caused a chain reaction of run away warming, perhaps its already to late, and nothing you can do but to build underground cities to keep those you can alive, during the ice age. Because there is no way we can keep everyone alive. So billions will be left to themselves because the governments kept all suppies for the suvivers that they collected.
Remember resident evil 2? If you see a bunch of black suvs racing around to several locations, or several smart people (professors and the like) start disapering, kiss your butts goodbye. 

If somethign was going to happen, do you think the government, or those that KNEW, would tell the rest of us?

Here is the last one for now-
These damn stink bugs. Those stupid bugs with wings that can't fly, and when you crush them, they smell.
Where did they come from? Never saw ONE while i was a kid.
Where they from and why are there so DAMN many of them?
So, here is a far off idea- With the 2012 event- and you can figure that its some sort of extinction event, perhaps someone wants to document this event, so they see how a race deals with its own destruction. Or to documnet how we as a race lived, before we are all gone.
They watch, and record, i mean, these bugs are so stupid, they have wings, but can't fly, they surivive for days with no water or food, does anyone know what they will not eat? and what biomass do they waste?

so, to survive, the govenrment would let billions die, to save the race, as they should, they would take money, and spend it as they could, because they know it does not mater, like the dieing man spending his money, cause he can't take it with him, and whats he care about debt? and, if there was a race of people on mars, and didn't know about earth, would we watch them? and see how they delt with their own destruction? Would it be to hard to think that someone would not do that to us?

Added later-
Just wanted to also mention, the event of 2012 has already happened. LIke 60,000 years ago, so if it was a complete destruction, it would have wiped all live out before. And we would not be here.
And life on the planet does grow fast, but if the event was really bad, it would take a long time to grow back to what we have, along with some sot of scar, that we could see.
But, what if there is a flip of the em field of the planet.
It would not collapse long enough to really burn up the planet. But if the event causes a massive EMP wave, it would place us back into stone age, but 60k years ago, would hardly be noticed.
If the emp hits us, we lose power, and the damage would be for a long time.
People with pace makers would be dead, production, and food would come to a halt, and the entire economy would collapse, with massive amounts of money vanishing in e-banking. The records would be gone, and that would be it.
The filth would stack up, the viruses would go rampant, and death to billions would begin. But, the planet would be fine, and even the buildings would be good.
Everything we do on day to day, would be gone, and since the companies that make the transformers we use to power the grid are few and can't make many, it would take a long time to get power up, and even longer, to get computers and electronics back online, and reinstalled with the software.


Oh well, time for bed, so, am i crazy? or is there a "hmmmm"

Anyway,

The week was long, the time i had was short.
Dreading the time i was to do something out of my normal habitat.
I was not going to spend this weekend playing computer games and watching tv.
I was asked to drive out to king a prussia mall and have a good time. While being me.

So, i counted each day, each hour till the time i was to drive out. The pain in the stomic was starting to hurt, the feeling of dread was falling over me like a fire suppression blanket. Thinking of different excuses to not go, thinking fo the ways i could get out of this very scary out of my normal action.

The day came, saturday,still thinking i don't want to go, all the while the other half of my brain telling me to go. So, i packed up my cloth, packed up all i thought i needed, directions in hand, i headed out.

Got on the road, stomic still telling me how much i was scared. i trucked on, (in my car) and after not being able to find the hotel for a bit, i made it safely to the meeting place. Of course, the near car accident i was in was a bit on the side of the bad omen that i was thinking was about to happen, and the reason to not go).
I knocked on the door, and was greeted by a very lovely lady, and friend, allowing me to breath a slight sigh of relief.
Was introduced to another lovely lady, in a very nice dress, (yes, i would love to wear that one) but would have to work out, like the owner, to fit into it.
After a few moments i was dressing up. Then to my gastly wonder i found that the outfit i wanted to wear the most, was not going to fit. So, it was to the back up dress that i was not allt hat keen on wearing, but someone suggested that it would look great. (which people did like it, but "clasic" is not something i was looking to hear. Anyway- i got into the outfit, and got some wonderful help with my makup. Of course, many laughs later, and a few fixes to mistakes, (what do you expect when you jab someone in the eye with a wet brush when they can't see what is going on.?)  But, we played around withthe wig for minute, and was good to go, not thinking i would ever be a blond, but it did look god, maybe next time a wig matching my hair would make pics look better.

So, i was in the dress, with shorter sleeves, the wig, the nail polish, the makeup, the shoes, when i looked at the thick matting of hair, and thought this does not do well for a the female perfictionist. So, we grabbed a trimmer and started trimming the arms. Well, after trimming for a few minutes, i thought this was not good enough, so i grabbed the razor and shaved them. I can't BELIEVE i shaved my arms. But, now i was looking my best, stomic settled a bit, and we were out the door.
Walking down the hall was a strainge feeling, being in my heels and dress, in a public place. We get to the elivator and shortly we were not alone, i didn't even turn around to look.

We head out to a meeting first, no idea what to expect, but after talking in "group" i can let down the guard a bit and loosen up (a tad)
Still, reminded me of the "theripy" sessions that did nothing to help at all. But hey, someone there got alot of help, so, in the end, the "group" did help, so i can figure that, i, and beyond help. Hey, leaves more room for friends.

Then we head to shangrla,
the first time i am around so many people like me, dressed and having fun in a bar. I never liked bars because it a place i don't spend time in, nor need to.
But the people were great, and they all wanted to talk with the first timer girl.
Made me feel great, im the center of attention. Of course, some girls there i wanted to talk to, but did not get the chance, because my fear got in the way again, But, im sure ill be able to talk to them later, so more reason to go back.

I talked to many people, had some great stories, and got alot of laughs from drunk people. They are always so much fun, i would love to put a figure in a bar with a camera and mic and watch the fun. Then, i had someone ask me to dance, which i told them i don't know how, and they draged me out and gave me some lessions. Very nice of them, and after a long chat, and some very close dancing, she kisses me. Then came the tonge, and well, it was nice, and can understand why so many like dancing. The connection one can have in close dancing with another. Well, thats a story for never.

It was a nice feeling to get money from a purse, and to have one around my arm the entire night. It was odd that it felt so confortable that it felt like it was not even there. Of course, it was very light since there was nearly nothing in it.

Looking forward to the pics, and for the memories.
So, for once in my life, i can really say that i had a great time out. Even though i had to take a vacation from myself. Some could say this is dangerous, and i would agree. But maybe, being what im not, is the reason i am the way i am.

The time spent at the room after the club was also intresting.
The lovely red dress was looking really good, but not as good as the one wearing it, and i made sure she knew it. The hug in the parking lot was the best, and a feeling like i have not had in some time, and again, like few others in my life, i didn't really want to let go. And of course, i made sure she knew that too.

even though the ride home was not all that great, it did not take away from how good the night really went. Ignorning the bad, to make the good better. Why not, im not the only one.
