Our hearts go out to all those affected by the devastating storms in Oklahoma, including our four-legged friends. Our Red Star Rescue team is in route and expected to be on the ground Thursday evening. A special thanks to our partners Mars Petcare, makers of Pedigree Adoption Drive, for providing critical pet food supply and Banfield Pet Hospital for providing much needed veterinary care. Also, a special thanks to Oklahoma's own Miranda Lambert and MuttNation Foundation for lending crucial aid to the community. United together, we can make a difference to those affected by the devastation. What has happened in Moore, OK this week was horrific, the loss of life of angelic children, the property damage leaving people without homes or jobs. It has even affected members of my own family, My older sister and her children are all safe, by the grace of God, but my oldest nephew and his family lost their home. The human tragedy is astounding, and of course they will need aid from every source available to get life even back to a semblance of normal.

There is another group to be considered as well. In all my lifetime, the pets I had were actually members of my family. To be separated from them, knowing that they were alone and scared, confused, not understanding the circumstances that had caused them to be lost, injured, without food and love of the only people they know and depend on would break my heart.
