the other day, my prissiest kitty (when he complains, we call him "Mister Pissy") was choking by the door to the front porch.  i thought he was working up a hairball, and i went to let him outside.  better out than in, i reasoned.

usually, when i try to control kitty barf situations, the kitty in question struggles.  i can get clawed.  i expected that from Mister Pissiness Himself, so i was really surprised when i walked up to him and opened the door and he went outside.

imagine my consternation when i looked out later to see that the kitty had yacked up a mouse...

blecccccccch.

these are angora goats (whose hair is used to make mohair).  i have to laugh when i look at them.  i wouldn't be able to tell the sheep dogs from the goats!!



these are turkish angora cats.  note that the longest hairs are not on the body, but on the head and tail.  these are a rare class of cat.  rare, and lovely.  i think they are the loveliest of the "angoras"!

this is a bunny. 

it is an angora rabbit, to be specific.  angora rabbit hair is used in making angora yarn.  they also use it in blended fiber yarns.  any time you see "rabbit hair" as a component of the fibers in your clothing, it most likely came from an angora rabbit.  (i still don't understand how these bunnies mate.  unless you see it from exactly the right angle, you can't even find the thing's little pink nose.  i can imagine other tiny pink parts are IMPOSSIBLE to find...)

now, there are angora goats, too.  but their hair is not used to make angora yarn.  oddly enough...  it's called mohair.  yep.  when you wear mohair - it's goat-hair yarn! 

there are also turkish angora cats.  nobody has the 'nads to try making anything with their hair!  imagine trying to shave a colony of cats to harvest yarn-making material.  like i said...  no one has the 'nads for that.

even though i really really really really really really want to post a comment and voice my (obviously quite negative) opinion.

so, i leave the troll to its own devices...  hey - starving a jack-ass troll is nicer than doing the whole billy-goat-gruff thing and knocking its ass clean off the bridge.

it wouldn't be my hand i would offer for a kiss to someone who did me wrong...



but i'm not against giving somebody five who did me a solid!
