I stopped a the Post Office on a warm fall day a couple weeks ago. I was on my motorcycle getting ready to leave when an Old Gentleman with a cane paid me a compliment about my bike and how nice it was. I asked him if he would like a ride... He replied that he had never been on a motorcycle and that he was tempted. With a bit of encouragement and some help with his stiff leg he was on behind me for his first ride. We went for a few blocks and when I got him back to his car he was just beaming over how "wonderful" it had been. He thanked me repeatedly and I went on my way. I felt wonderful myself for the simple act that did him and myself a world of good.
A Cranberry as any day can be relatively dull and even sour... A simple act of kindness to another person can sweeten the day and transform it into a very savory dish that we can relish in our memories... A Question of Civilization...
