From quite a few of the e-mails we have received since the Coolblonde e-mail/SexyAds newsletter went out the other day, it appears many of you don’t know about the forums&have never been in there. So this is a bit of a ‘Forums For Dummies’ how-to for you!Lets start with those of you who DIDN ’T get the Coolblonde e-mail/SexyAds newsletter&from some of the e-mails we’ve had over on our Mike_EJ profile, quite a few of you don’t get the newsletters.For those of you that do want to receive SexyAds newsletters & mail shots & currently don ’t, you probably haven’t checked the box enabling you to receive SexyAds newsletters.So, go to My Account on the frontpage where you log in, click Make Changes, then, on the page that opens, in the box that says Options click SexyAds Mail Options & tick all the boxes for all the stuff you want to get in future & your all set. So, what ’s it all about with the forums then?Well, lets start with these words by Maureen ….
What's So Special About SexyAds Forums? The forum is the gathering place where people meet to discuss everything from their sexuality to what shampoo they recommend for their dogs and everything in between. Forum users log in several times a day to discuss, debate, banter, inform ... and most importantly to connect to friends they've made here. Chatting via a message board is a very human activity, that's for sure. Members' words can light us up or seem larger than life. The interactions can occasionally cause heightened emotional or creative charges, despite the fact that we may never see one another face to face. Taking part in a conversation in text is a relatively new group experience for many newcomers to Sexy Ads. Many topics are timeless, and can be discussed again and again by newcomers who'd like to have a chance to describe their experiences. Others are seasonal, and come back around every year. Like actors on a bare stage, members of a thread create the illusion of a place, a scene you can watch or join in, by their words or emoticon gestures. As the interactions become more complex, and the participants become known to one another, several roles become available for the sustainers of the group conversation. Often these roles are filled intuitively; small understandings are smoothed out, new ideas introduced, visitors welcomed and progress summarized and restated simply because it feels right. The best threads engage everyone to have a say, whether it's what is your favourite sexual position or what can I cook for dinner. Success of a thread or forum depends as much upon the energy, creativity and approach of its moderator as it does upon the subject matter post. A good forum or thread is like a good party. The host determines how it all plays out. The host seats interesting people next to each other at a party and in the forum the moderator engages individuals to conduct an interesting conversation. What Exactly Does a Forum Moderator Do? So there you go! Raring to go & want to get started & join us in all the fun of the forums then? OK, this’ll get you off to a flyer…. To get into the forums, click Forum on the red menu bar that appears on the top of all the pages on here, it’s the second in from the left (3rd from the left if you’re a VIP member). The Forum Index page will open with a list of all the forums, their subject matter & the names of their moderators, like this….
This is just a part of the list from the Swingers forum. As can be seen, there are two active pages, so make sure you have a look at everything in there. In the column on the far left there are little pictures of envelopes in blue & orange. As new topics are added to the list & new posts made in topics, older, not recently used topics move down the list & eventually make their way to the forum ’s archive (more on this later).A new post in a topic places that topic at the top of the list. The second column on the left can have a few small icons in it, from a ‘thumbs up’ symbol, for a topic of special interest, a question mark for, well, a topic asking something, a little camera for topics with lots of pictures or an exclamation mark for important info.Then there is the topics title, then the number of posts that have been made, the topics authors nickname & finally the last posters nickname & the date/time of the post. To read the contents of a topic, simply click on it & it opens up the wonderful world beyond! It all looks pretty much like this …..There will be the posters profile picture above their details. When your in there, clicking on a members nickname in the left column will navigate you to their profile page, if you want to know more about them or e-mail them if they or you are a VIP. This will be indicated by a small gold V in a dark red circle. A small white B in a blue circle denotes they have a blog you can read. So, if you have something to say on a subject, it ’s time to make a post!There is a line of pale blue boxes along the top of the page. Click on Post Reply & the standard SexyAds word processor thingy opens. Below the box your typing your comments into, the last three posts are displayed so you can refer to those posts to check details, names, dates & stuff in those posts you might wish to comment on. There is a spell checker & it ’s worth using!From here, you can insert images into your post, emoticons etc. Before you make your post, please make yourselves aware of the SexyAds posting rules, they are below the text box in red & these are they …No personal indentifying information, including but not limited to: Email addresses, screen names, Instant messenger contacts, phone or pager numbers, street or PO addresses. Also no URLs or entries about incest, kids or animals OR YOU WILL BE BLOCKED FROM POSTING The forum moderators job is to keep an eye out for any & all of this stuff. When it ’s discovered the post will be edited, in part or deleted in it’s entirety, if necessary.If your post gets edited by the moderator they ’ll leave a message on your post saying what they’ve done & why.If the whole thing is deleted …well, you should be able to figure out why!Follow the posting rules & you wont go far wrong. If it ’s a genuine mistake, ie: you cut & pasted something & missed a www. or something similar in it, then these things happen & the moderators will deal with it.But if your trying an end run round the site rules or you keep loading a post the moderators have deleted, you ’ll lose your posting privileges & the SexyAds staff will deal with you.In a bit more detail ….No personally identifying information . No names, addresses, email addresses, cell phone numbers - nothing that could possibly identify a member. This is to ensure that members choose which other members get their information. If they choose poorly, it's not SexyAds fault!No Discrimination of any kind, based on the grounds of gender, religion, race, social status, age, etc. will be tolerated.Spam - Posts that are completely off topic which generally irritate other forum users will be removed. This includes posting the same message in multiple forums, the threads will be merged and the various original posts will be removed, this also includes single-word posts and simple "I agree" posts which serve no purpose at all. The moderator has full discretion in this area.No Advertising - No selling used panties, no URLs for other websites, no telephone numbers of "professional" men or women & no advertising of personal products or services by one member to others who are not interested. (even if they might be interested, don’t do it in the forums!)Post in English . While this is an international forum, until we have moderators who can speak many different languages, we're going to stick with English only.No Disrespect. No posts with the sole intention of offending another members in an inflammatory way.No impersonation of a member or moderator is acceptable. The posts will be deleted & the nickname reported to staff so it can be removed.No Begging - of any kind. The post will be deleted and the member reported to staff so their entire membership can be deleted.No Websites - of any kind.And of course, no being abusive to other members, & no ‘blood letting’ out in the open forum, forum users are bound to disagree from time to time, we’re only human, after all, but don’t be an ass out there & play nice! One other thing that, while not against the Site Posting Rules, no moderator will allow in their forums, is what we call Looking Posts, ie: I’m John/Joanna & I live wherever & am looking for whoever in my area for whatever’. That sort of thing. That’s what your ad’s are for! Pretty much everything else is fair game! If you have a problem or issue, e-mail the forums moderator (you can do this anytime, for free) & they’ll all do their best to get it sorted for you. (but please be patient & remember the different time zones, you might be half way through your day, but it might be stupid o’clock for them!) If they cant resolve whatever it is, or are part of the problem, they’ll pass it to another mod or the SexyAds staff. Don’t sit & stew about it, we’re all here to help everyone get the maximum benefit & fun out of the forums. This is what a it looks like in the box ready for posting…
To upload your masterpiece, click the POST box only ONCE.If you click it multiple times, you’ll make multiple identical posts! You cant delete your posts once uploaded to the forum & they will sit there as a display of your hamfistedness until the moderators come along & clean it all up! Should you wish to use the Quote Post feature click on Quote Post & the members comment will open in the text box.You can edit the post, ie: you don ’t have to use the whole post, just the relevant section(s) of it, just click the cursor at the end of the text & backspace the unwanted sections of text out.If you do this, when you ’re done editing, click the cursor above the Quote/members details then click it back underneath the text & hit enter a couple of times, then start typing whatever you want to say.Doing this ensures that your text & the original text from the post your commenting on don ’t all end up in the white box, they are separated, the original text appears in a white box with your text below it.Don ’t worry too much about it, it can still all be read & we all do it from time to time!But remember, you cant delete your post once it ’s been uploaded…only the forums moderators can delete posts.This is what it looks like….
If you really have changed your mind about all of your post & you think it ’s all an unmitigated disaster, you can backspace out all your text, but a blank box with your profile pic/details will remain.You can leave a note for the moderators “my post was rubbish, please delete” or something along those lines!A little tip if your not too good/fast at typing & have a lot you want to say. Do it as a Word document (or other word processing application) & copy & paste it in. If your not too fast at typing & have a lot to write & you type it straight into the text box, you might find the session ‘timed out’ & closed & you’ll lose everything you just spent ages carefully creating as you try to post it. In my early days on here, this happened to me a number of times & it’s REALLY infuriating & guaranteed to piss you right off! A copy & paste job from a word processing application is the way forward. We do this for our longer posts (works for blog entries & e-mails too) & have a word document open at all times to bang stuff together in & paste into here. Note: if working like this, in the quote post feature, there is sometimes a pretty low word limit, depending on the forum. We do quite a bit of this double posting of long posts. If there is no topic in your chosen forum(s) that is relevant to the subject you would like, you can start a new topic about your chosen subject. Click on New Topic & the text editor box opens as usual, but there is a blank box along the top for you to write the title or subject matter of your new topic. Below this are the topic icons, those little images of an exclamation mark/question mark/thumbs up/camera mentioned earlier. You can click the little button next to the icon to select it or click none & leave it blank when it’s posted. It’s always worth having a look at the forums Archive for topics of interest or topics similar to your own interests. A big forum like Taboo Topics has three or four active pages, with literally hundreds of topics in it’s archive. To access the Forum Archives, scroll right to the bottom of the Forum index page & you’ll find the archives. Click on it & your into the archives, find the forum your interested in & click on it, just the same as in the main forums. If there is a topic your interested in, making a post in it returns that topic to the active pages of the forum. Once you have made your first post, you will get a little ‘name’. New posters are known as ‘Twinkletoes’, there are several of these names including ‘Pundit’ ‘Veteran’ ‘Wizard’ ‘Mayor’ & ‘Oracle’. They are a bit of fun, nothing more. To give you an idea, as Coolblonde we’re ‘Veterans’ with 700 odd posts, as Mike_EJ (under which we’re forum moderators) we’re ‘Oracles’ with just over 2,000 posts right now. Celticbee is the Posting Queen on here, with nearly 40, 000 posts racked up in four years…but she’s an ‘Oracle’ just like us.If you become a forum regular, the posts soon mount up, but there are no prizes to be had for the amount of posts! Seeing all this in print & it all looks a load of hassle & hard work! But honestly, it ’s really only a few keystrokes, we do many posts every day & it soon becomes second nature.There are a couple of other features but these are the main ones to get you going in the forums, the rest can easily be figured out once your happy making posts. So now your all set & ready to become a forum junkie, just like us. But how on earth do you get photos & other images into your posts? Read on! Getting Photos In Your Forum Posts. As we’re not all Bill Gates the Computer Freak, I thought I’d post this so those of you who don’t know or have never tried it & want to include pictures in your posts have the steps necessary to pull it off, written in plain English, not computer geekspeak! Before we go any further, let me tell you that different browsers display SexyAds pages differently &, if your viewing on Firefox a post with multiple images made on Internet Explorer, the spacing can appear terrible & the same the other way around. Also on different machines, too. We only discovered this when viewing SexyAds off another computer while showing some people (alright, my mum & dad!) what we do on here…some of our multi image posts looked horrible! Believe us, when we craft a multi image post, we take great care with the spacing, text layout etc. & on our machine, when it’s done & posted, it looks perfect! On the same machine, opened with a different browser, the same post can appear all over the place. It’s just one of those things, I’m afraid! These instructions are how it seems to work if your using Internet Explorer 8 on Windows Vista. Firefox instructions are a very similar, any differences are highlighted in the text & it is a little easier with Firefox, but the results are a bit more ‘all over the place’ if being viewed from a different browser. First off, select your photos….crop ‘em nicely to get rid of any unwanted shit in the background & resize them. Huh? They need to be around the 45/50 Kb size (you can find the size of the image by hovering the pointer over the thumbnail, don’t click on it, just hover over it, it’s size will be shown in Kb or Mb…if your image is up in the 100’s of Kb or anywhere in the Mb …..you’ll have to resize it, it’ll never load/be manageable in a post!) to load quickly & be manageable in a forum post, you don’t need any fancy software for this…open your photo in Windows Paint or whatever photo edit package you have on another OS….if your picture is on the large size when opened in Paint…& you’ll be able to tell straight away, (if it’s OK, skip this next bit). Along the top, it’ll say Image, click that & then Resize/Skew in the drop down box thingy. In the Horizontal & Vertical boxes go for 50 50 to start with to see where you are, you can go Undo in Edit to start again. The picture of EJ I’m using in here is about 3” x 6” and is 39 Kb in size, so that gives you an idea.
Where the hell’s the forum gallery?! On the left of the frontpage where you log in is a box with a heart & pencil…it’s the third one down, the red My Account one. In that box it says Make Changes in blue….click on that. You’ll get five blue outline boxes come up on the page that opens with different things in them, the right middle box says Add or Delete a photo….click on that. Your now on My Personal Gallery…no, no….not mine…yours! Along the top there are five gallery options, the second from the left says Forum Gallery….click that one. Your now on your forum gallery….click Upload a Photo. Now you have the Browse button in front of you….click it. You should now have access to wherever you keep your pictures on your computer….ours are in ‘pictures’, funnily enough! Open the folder you keep your pictures in…the one I’m using here is in ‘Emma, pictures’….makes sense, I suppose (remember, it’s doubtful you’ll have an ‘Emma, pictures’ folder & if you do, it wont have these pix in it!) Double click your pic & it’s title will show in the box & Upload will highlight….click that & your photo will indeed upload. This may take a while, depending on the size of your picture, keep them around the 45/50 Kb mark & they load pretty quick. You’ll get a window with your picture in it telling you it’s successfully uploaded & you can mess around with it a little from here, it’s all pretty self explanatory. Close the window with the green button & you’ll see your picture in your forum gallery! If you want to do another pic….just repeat the process. There’s no limit to how many images you can have on there….we have literally hundreds because of all the tattoo photos & stuff I post in Taboo Topics. Once your done uploading your photos, come into the forum….& this works in all the forums, by the way….find the topic you want & hit Post a Reply. There’s two ways of going about it from here. You can hit the Insert Item icon at the top right of the toolbar…it’s the third one in from the right, not the one with the smiley face…that’ll get you little dancing dicks & fireworks & skipping snoopy’s & all sorts! Your forum gallery will appear with the pictures in a line of five at the bottom…if you loaded a few & the one you want isn’t there, click More Images on the bottom right & the rest of your pictures will appear in a big box. You can also insert images from elsewhere from here, straight from your computer, Photobucket etc. But REMEMBER, these images will not be seen in the post by anyone else until they have been OK’d by the backroom staff, usually within 24 hours. This also holds true if your using pictures from your forum gallery you have only just loaded in there, they will need approving also, so it’s a good idea to load a lot of stuff to your forum gallery so you can use it whenever, or load today to use tomorrow! Click on the pic you want & it will magic itself onto the open page…it can take a couple of seconds to do this…don’t go impatiently clicking or you’ll end up with loads of the same pic on there…..right click on the unwanted image/s & Cut will get rid of them if you do this. If your image isn’t too large there will be space down the side for your text….type away. If you want the text at the bottom, hit the Enter key ‘till the cursor is below the image…give it a few ‘lines’ of room or when you post, the text will start half way up the side of the image. If it does this annoyin If you want the text over the top of the pic, you’ll need to hit the Enter key & keep on going ‘till you have a bit of space below the image. Now hover the cursor over the image, you’ll get the four black arrows in a cluster…left click & drag the image down a bit, but be warned a downward drag moves it more than you think it will, so left click & drag it back up to where you want it….it drags much more controllably going upwards for some reason! (Internet Explorer only, they drag OK in Firefox). Now you have the space & can type text over the top of the image We now have a spellchecker on the text editor, it’s a recent addition! Before, if you couldn’t spell, the way to do it was to craft your text in a word processing application & copy & paste it in This is exactly what I’m doing here….knocking this together in ‘Word’ & copying & pasting it onto the open page in Post a Reply. This is still the best option for a very long, text heavy post, unless you’re a Gold Medal standard typist, by the time everything is typed in & spell checked & your images have been loaded & positioned & you have checked it all again, your SexyAds session may well have timed out & closed & you’ll lose all your hard work! Once your text is on there, hit the Enter key from the top of the text to give yourself some room to load the image….you don’t have to do this, but it sure makes life easier!
When you got the pictures where you want them, close the text up to them, leaving a few ‘lines’ of clear space to avoid the text/image interface fuck up outlined somewhere above! Hit the Post button & Hey Presto, you did it! If it fucked up, don’t worry, hit Edit Post & go back in a sort out your screw up! Reading all this makes it sound ever so complicated….it’s not really, once you get the hang of it! This is a ‘new’ image editor thingy, & while it’s true the old one was a little easier to use, you could just click wherever you wanted the pic to go, hit insert image, click your image & that’s just where it would go. (FIREFOX note, it still works like this in Firefox, but leave quite a bit of clear space between each picture & between the pictures & text too to prevent an image/text interface fuck up!). The benefit of it is that your image is pretty much ready to use as soon as it’s loaded in the forum gallery (it used to say ’waiting approval’ you can use them straight away now, but only YOU will see them until they have been approved & you can load XXX pics too….the software of the other system wouldn’t have any of that! BUT these will ONLY be viewable by VIP members). Final note for whatever your using. If you load a large image that takes up all of the box, make sure you have hit the Enter key first to give you enough room to get below the image to write text/load more images.. the cursor won’t scroll down the side & YOU’LL end up as the curser as you’ll need to cut the image, make some room to work & load it again! I hope you get into using pictures in your posts, have a bit of a practice, then get a couple of pictures going.

For those of you that have been waiting for more information on our upcoming forum social, there’s good news for you! The 24 Hours of Fornication, erm Forumcation , are slated to start at noon UTC (that’s us in the UK) on Friday the 20th and will run until Noon UTC on Saturday the 21st. (7 am Eastern time in the United States, about 1 am New Zealand time, so spare a thought for the staff down there who have volunteered to be on for this for us!) For those of you that are time zone challenged you can use an online timezone converter (we’re using Foxclocks) but, the idea behind holding the event for 24 hours is to allow everyone a chance to join in on the fun and prizes, no matter what time it is where ever you are! (even the ‘space cadets’ amongst you!) We’ll be on ‘live’ for the full 24 hours (well, one of us will be, but we’ll both try to be on together, although I can already see EJ punching Zzz’s on the sofa once we crest the 2 am UK time mark! There will also definitely be some SexyAds gear up for grabs throughout the event as well&whatever else we can find that no one could be bothered to steal from us! We're keeping it under close wraps, but one way to earn one of the free memberships is to be the first to use the Secret Word in the most original/creative way in short story. We will be releasing the subject matter for the short story once the event has officially begun, so warm up your creative process and be ready to win! Hi everyone. We’d like to thank every one of the 4,895 people (so far!) that have checked in&checked us out since receiving the e-mail from Coolblonde in their in-box. And a big thank you to the 42 of you who e-mailed Coolblonde (& who have all had a reply!) yes, even the guys with the ‘Wanna fuck you’ messages! And a further big thank you to all those of you who did all the same things over on our Mike_EJ profile! We hope that you all can make it to the 24 Hour Forumcation Forum Fun Extravaganza & join us & the gang live in the forums…we’ll be on ‘live’ for the full 24 hours & look forward to seeing you all in there on the 20th/21st of this month…if you can all turn up in there at some point through the 24 hours, it’s sure to be a lot of fun! Hey People! Thanks to everyone who has responded to the e-mail you all got from us about the 24 HOUR FORUMCATION. We have replied to everyone who has e-mailed us (& will continue to do so). The 100 odd tickles are nice! So too are the dozens of friends requests! BUT…about those friends requests! We’d love to have you all on our friends gallery, we really would. Unfortunately, we’re on a wireless dial up connection here (it’s little better than two tins&a bit of string!). So, PLEASE, don’t take this personally, but unless you’re a hot female or couple, we’re sadly going to have to decline all those friends requests…otherwise, we’ll never get the profile open to reply to your e-mails! Thanks for your understanding on this. We have a ‘standard letter’ we usually send out to people (alright, guys!) who make a friends request telling them why we've had to decline their friends request, but as there are so many of you right now, we’ll be sending the same e-mail for hours! We’ll try to reply to all the e-mails we receive on the same day, but please bear in mind, we also have our forum moderating duties (as Mike_EJ) to attend to & the e-mails to that profile from folk & staff & we’re getting everything sorted for the 24 HOUR FORUMCATION too, so if we cant get back to you straight away, we’ll do our best to make it within 24 hours. You might have noticed that over time we have tried hard to drag you kicking&screaming into the forums!
So what’s the big deal? Just what is it your missing? Well, how about photos like this one…. There are LOTS like that in them (well, in Taboo Topics at any rate!) So, if you have never used the forums & want to know what it’s all about, DON’T MISS THIS & the chance to WIN one of 3 30 DAY VIP MEMBERSHIPS (one of these would enable you to see all the XXX pix of EJ on here & all the other hot girls (& guys!) on here in BIG XXX glory!) The 24 HOUR FORUMCATION Update! We have a date….the Friday/Saturday 20th/21st of THIS month! We’re going to have a new, dedicated forum just for it! We have the backroom staff who have volunteered to approve photos & other images for you to use on a rolling basis, so there won’t be too long a delay from you uploading them to them being viewable. We have more goodies we can use as bait to drag you in & to give away for little competitions we’ll run as the event unfolds. The 24 HOUR FORUMCATION will be advertised in a newsletter shortly & again before the event kicks off & we’ll bring you more details of the competitions as we get them worked out.
