I was working today and since it was an outside job I spent most of it in my car trying not to freeze like I did yesterday.  In one of the times I was out of the car (getting progressively colder) after talking about blue prints and schedules I looked up and to the west and saw the clouds.  They were silver and heavy but not the dark of rain, instead they were snow clouds.
    I looked at them with both dread and anticipation, dread because I hate the cold that comes with it but anticipation because even if this is the dark, cold, dead time of the year without it there would be no joy at watching the sun rise on the darkest day and knowing that it will all start again.  Plus who doesn't like to look out their window and see those fat, heavy flakes of snow fall and wrap up in a thick warm, blankets and drink hot chocolate? I love listening to that stillness that goes with it because there is nothing like it.

Good and evil, I’m not even sure such things exist as they use to.  Murders and serial killers are evil, that’s pretty much a given. But what about the people who made them what they were?  Who took some one who was an innocent and warped them so badly that they became evil?  Most of them aren’t spoken of just the results of their work as seen through their victims horrible deeds.

Then there is good, is good really good if it’s done for selfish reasons? Or does the self serving pollute what would truly be something wonder if it was done without those selfish motivations?

Reasons for doing things can also be pure and wonderful but the things done in the name of good can be horrible.  The ends do NOT justify the means.

I cannot ever under why religions (and I’ll use examples from the two largest and most relevant faiths at the moment) think that killing others will please the founder of their respective religions.  Take for examples Christianity.  No matter what denomination you are one of the 7 deadly sins is Murder.  It’s a commandment ‘Thou shalt not kill’ yet Christians throughout the world, past and present (inquisition anyone?) are justifying the murder of thousands by saying they weren’t Christian so the rules didn’t apply to them.  Before anyone has screaming fits about me using Christianity as an example I’ll move onto the next one.  The most notorious example being Osama Bin Laden; his terrorist followers are violating so many parts of the Qur’an (Koran) that it’s not even funny.   I’ll even list them for those who aren’t big readers of religious texts that aren’t ones they personally follow.

The most common mistake being the term jihad, everyone knows that it means holy war right?  Actually it doesn’t.  Literally translated it means striving and not striving against some other religion but an internal struggle of right against wrong.  That is the Greater jihad; the lesser one is concerned with the outside world. This jihad is the safeguarding of one’s life, faith, livelihood, honor, and the integrity of the Muslim community. The Prophet Muhammad reportedly said that “the preferred jihad is a truth spoken in the presence of a tyrant (1).  This is the one that has been perverted by Bin Laden.  He can make a lesser jihad all he wants but he can NOT do so against innocents such as “I command you to do ten things: you must not kill a woman or a child, or an elderly person; do not cut down trees, or vandalize homes, or wound a sheep or camel except if you must eat it; do not drown a palm tree, or burn it, do not be treacherous; do not be cowardly; and you will pass by people who have devoted themselves to monastery life: leave them alone with their devotions.” (Tarikh At-Tabari, V.3, p.210) I think that pretty much rules out the whole suicide bombing in market places thing doesn’t it?

 

Ok done with the religion less on for the day, I don’t know if anyone will read it or care but hey here you go.

 

Oh and for those of you who might wonder I’m a pagan.

Who knew that trying to come up with decent cards that say something about yourself but also fit your job was so difficult?  This is turning into a lot more of a challenge than I anticipated.  Then again when my boss gave me a handful of the blank company cards and told me to fill them out I didn't actually think I would need them!  Oh well.  Live and learn.

I've been working. A lot.  When I'm not working I'm on call to the new person who is working so I'm half working when I'm at home too.  In between calls from the trainee I'm also working on my degree in psychology.  That means I have lots of homework.  So often when you see me online I'm doing homework, answering questions via phone or text message as well as attempting to pretend I have a social life here.  So for those of you who are impatient with me taking a while to answer.. yes I am talking to you, no sorry I can't answer you quicker.  Odds are your not the only one I'm talking to.  I promise I will answer you when you talk to me but keep in mind the multi tasking I'm doing slows me down.  Just be glad it's summer and you can stare at my tits while I'm doing the 80 other things required of me.

  Thanks to my wonderful friend Simpleman2005 (go check him out!) I found out someone on another site had decided to use one of my pictures and pretend they looked like me.  Now aside from being incredible outraged that someone would dare do that, and slightly flattered that they thought I looked good enough to want to pretend to be me, I was saddened by the idea that people are really that dishonest.

  If you don't have a picture then don't steal someone elses picture.  Aside from it might get back to the site you posted it on; as it did in this case since I wrote to them about it, if anyone meets up with you they're going to find out that you lied to them.  That's definitely NOT the way you want to start a relationship out.  This is of course assuming that they have anything to do with you after noticing that your obviously not the person in the picture you have posted.  So for the love of gods, just don't do it!  I'm very sure Maureen and Jayce would come down on you hard for violating their terms of service at the very least. 

As a further note its also a good reason to get a cam and also ask for a cam as proof of identity.  We have this wonderful cam chat here as a really good excuse to find out if people really are their pictures USE IT!

PS  If your even considering taking one of my pictures you'd better think about it again. If you do take one and use it tt might be a few years but I will find out about it and when I do you can bet that I'm going to use everything in my power to see to it that what you planned on doing with it is going to be ruined all to hell.
