....MAKE LEMONADE!!!

I've had a setback....or two, actually,  during the last few weeks.  I was informed that I was being "laid off " from my job, teaching English as a second language.... by phone and internet......a job I truly have loved!  This because the company is 're-structuring' and "will no longer be employing people in the state in which I live"....high taxes being  the reason given to me.   I have worked for this company for four years, since its beginning as a small company, though appealing to an international market for people who need to improve their skills in the English language.  I know this is a fact of life in the corporate world today, and yet I find it diffucult to undersand when I've been instrumental in helping to develop this company to what it is today.....I've contributed my expertise as a credentialed, experienced teacher, as well as untold hours of lessons and materials that are in use today by this company. Yet there is NO compensation, nor even recognition of my contributions. 

So....what does this all have to do with my heading...."When life hands you lemons....???

It is ..... that I'm still ME....I KNOW my worth to the world, and I  won't let this get me down...I WILL go on and find something BETTER in order  to continue to make my contribution to the world to help, in whatever small way I can, to make it a better world than the one I came into.

I read so many blogs and comments and in forums from men who say they can't meet a woman on SexyAds....or any dating site. And I haven't either here....until yesterday... Met a man in person, I mean.

So I want all the whiners to know.....sure, it's possible! I had met a man here, we've exchanged emails and gotten acquainted thru IMs and phone calls, then later decided to meet. We did, and had a great time together. Will we meet again? Yes, most assuredly. What exactly will come of it?.....I don't know....if I could tell the future, I'd probably become rich and famous.....but it was truly a wonderful day!

Men....my advice to you is the same that has been discussed here so many times re how to make an impression on a woman....and was so succinctly stated in Maureen's recent message of a day or two ago. One Member's Experience...... So, take heed....."faint heart ne'er won fair lady," to quote Mr Will Shakespeare....

And, as as you hear so many women say.....READ MY AD!!!!!! and respond accordingly Please!

.....that my first blog entry would be basically negative. I've been intending to write a blog here on Sexy Ads, for a variety of reasons, but I just had to do this today, while I'm thinking about it. So this is a "beware"....but only of a few men....

This is the notice I posted today on a website for women to post about men cheaters, liars, abusers, etc.:

After posting his name, city, etc.... "WATCH OUT....This is a SCAMMER, and he is actually from Nigeria, and may be there now. He claims to be Italian, to have moved to LA 7 years ago, that his wife died in a car accident and he has a 12 yr old daughter. He gave me a cell phone number, which I messaged and found that it belongs to a woman in WA state. He tried to get money out of her, claiming that his daughter was in a hospital in Nigeria. He comes on very quickly saying things like he's falling in love with you, will take care of you for the rest of your life, calls you angel, honey, darlin', etc, that he wants you to trust him, and to give him your heart, and it's all BS, until he can come up with a way to get money out of you. Money is definitely his goal, as it is with all the Nigerian scams that are so prevalent these days.

He may be on other dating sites, with a different ID, (NO, he was not on Sexy Ads, or I would have reported him!!!) but his MO is about the same. So watch out and listen for all the red flags....it's definitely a case of "If it's too good to be true, it probably is." And men like this make it really hard for women to trust any men....which makes it really hard for the good guys. So we have to remember that there truly are many good guys, and we have to learn to listen to our intuition."

My additional comment....I've met some really wonderful men both here and on another site, so this is certainly not a condemnation of all men, by any means!!! And I feel so much for all you good guys, that there are men like this preying on women....many of whom are vulnerable. And yes, there are women who are scammers looking for men to scam too. Remember if you find either here, please report them immediately, and they'll be swiftly removed!!!!
