I am depressed at the level of ignorance that some people have declined to in the current discourse of politics in the USA.  To all you British patrons to SA, I'd like to ask you to contribute a few encouraging words to my fellow contrymen/women about the benefits of "universal healthcare."
a few days ago, a REPUBLICAN representative was attending a town hall meeting and addressing the subject of healthcare reform.  A clearly ill-informed (see "42finebody") indivdual got up and said "keep your govamunt hands off my medicare!"  no matter what he tried he couldn't convince this individual and many others that Medicare is GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE!!!!!   And also, as an aside, I know that there have been problems with the VA healthcare system but I have numerous contemporaries who are Vietnam era vets and get their healthcare at the VA and are perfectly satisfied.
It's really sad that in the 21st century that we can have so many people listening and believing people like rush limbaugh, ann coulter, and lou dobbs...

if your employer is doing something that you think is a violation of your rights or privacey, refer it to wage and hour authourities or the federal district attorney.  don't just sit there and complain,  DO SOMETHING  OSHA isn't your enemy, it's designed to help you get heavy shit off the SHELF without hurting yourself!!!!!
