This was inspired by a friend not very long ago. I finally wrote it out quickly so as not to let it get too convoluted or forgotten.

There once was a castle that was said to hold a wonderful treasure. Adventurers from near and far, catching but a glimpse of the castle from their own lands, made the journey there in hopes of seeing its wonders.

Reaching the castle, each brave fighter was rebuffed by its high walls. They came in their strongest armor, wielding steel and riding terrible beasts. Each time they approached, their strength was matched and then overwhelmed by the seemingly unbreakable walls that rose up to meet them. They sighted nary a peek at the prize they so eagerly coveted.

One day, like all the others, a knight that approached the castle was turned back again and again by the formidable walls protecting it. But he realized that the stronger the attack he made, the stronger the walls grew. He thought about this and made a fearful decision. With his heart racing, dreading final defeat and destruction, he set down his steel, his armor and shield, his every form of security and sanctuary, and approached the castle again, this time with only the courage, love and desire of his true self and spirit. When he reached out and made contact with his bare hand, to his joy the castle wall withdrew, lowering itself, dismantling before his very eyes. He was allowed beyond the walls at last, and for the first time viewed the treasure of the castle within, neither gold or jewels but a beautiful garden, in which he forever felt grateful to be himself, happy, and whole.

Ah now for a reflection on the blog itself. Very interesting. It's been a nice way to reflect on a few select thoughts on the site. It's a good exercise. It's also good to hear comments from people on their similar experiences. Thank you, I very much appreciate those.

I've also noticed a little rating system that displays at the top. My blog started at a rating 5, and has dropped since then lol. I can almost see that one person logging on at each posting and voting it down, for no real reason. That intrigues me that I have already caught someone's attention to that extent! I'll have to try to post more.

After a few slow days, I decided to try the chat room. So far it seems this is a good way to meet some helpful people. Many of the chat room participants are regulars and they know a lot about how the site features work. They are also generally friendly, accepting, and willing to have a laugh about most anything. If you're bored, want to joke around, or possibly view someone who you might like to get to know, try the chat.
