Hello lovely people
Thursday, October 16, 2014
Just popping in to say hi. What a year. My mother died in April 27th, my father died August 2nd, I got married, I graduated from nursing school, took and passed my Boards 3 days later, I am starting my own free clinic for the homeless, we are in the middle of a crazy home renovation. Life is good. Hard, but good, I wish everyone the best, I hope your lives are happy, amazing and productive. Stand tall and strong everyone, live long and happy lives. That is my wish for you. I love you all,
Merry Christmas everyone!

I want to wish each and every person on here (including you reading this :) a happy and wonderful year ahead. If things are really going your way, I hope they continue to do so. If you are struggling, I wish you whatever it is you need. Health, home, happiness, time, money - whatever it is, just know that another human being cares about you. Be safe and warm all. Merry Christmas.
Is there such a thing as Pumpkin Pie Anonymous?
Sunday, December 1, 2013
I have had four glorious days off from school. And aside from hosting a large Thanksgiving dinner for my fantastic friends I have been a complete sloth. The amount of pumpkin pie that I have eaten is DISGUSTING. It's not even so much the pie I love as the WHIPPED CREAM!!! I like a little pie with my whipped cream. As such I have polished off over the course of 4 days, an ENTIRE PIE and TWO cans of whipped wonderfulness. Not a tiny, little pie mind you - a Costco pie. I have actually been studying, but rather than waddle myself around the block for some exercise, oh nooo, I have snuggled myself up in front of my enormous fireplace and reveled in my slothdom. Alas I return this evening to my former life and it is soup and salad for dinner. I should recover from my sugar coma just in time for Christmas, when I will again fall under the spell of the Pecan Tassies my sister makes for me. They are a little bigger than a quarter and like little mini pecan pies except without the gross gelatinous goo in the middle, just crust and candied pecans. If I knew every one I ate would take a year off my life, I'd still eat them - they are THAT good. Ha ha - where is Phen Fen when you need it? Hope everyone else had a great holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving all. I hope everyone is able to feel that they have something to be thankful for. I realize life is tough and there are always challenges to face but even in the darkest moments there is something to be grateful for. I hope every person's heart is warmed by that gratitude today, be it a sliver of hope of an overflowing cup. I am hosting a large dinner today at my house and my plan was to bring my mother from the new facility where she is but it turns out that she is SO happy where she is, she didn't want to come. I can't say enough nice things about the people at the new place. I don't think I have EVER seen my mother this happy in all of her life. It is such a loving and supportive environment. She dances around all day with her new friends - wearing a cowboy hat and fairy wings, carrying her baby doll. Granted, she's not all there - but if she can spend her last years in such joy I say rock on mama! I have so much to be grateful for, not the least of which are you lovely people here in this community. I wish you all a warm, safe, happy holiday full of love, peace and pumpkin pie.
Circle the City info
Saturday, November 23, 2013
In response to the gentleman who asked for more info on Circle the City, I am happy to elaborate but the best way to get info is to google it. I am not allowed to post web addresses I don't think, but if you just google Circle the City Phoenix you will get to them. They also have the same program in some other major cities. It is a community collaborative effort that is all about relationships. Hospice of the Valley bought the building and leases it to Circle the City. It opened in Sept of 2012. It is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation (so your donations may be tax deductible) that operates a 50 bed facility. The have 40 beds for men, 10 for women. They believe that spirituality is also a key to healing so it is nondenominational and while they support and embrace all religious beliefs, they endorse none in particular. The staff are amazing people and there are always volunteer opportunities. If someone can't afford to donate money, they could donate time, skills, or perhaps do collection drives for essentials like hygiene items, (toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, socks, underwear, shampoo etc...) Volunteers do have to be 18. Everything helps. There is no burden too heavy when everyone helps lift right? Be kind to one another in this life and please do what you can to help. I wish you all safety, comfort and happiness!
